Kayaking Cucao Lake - River to the Pacific


When the English naturalist Charles Darwin visited the Village of Cucao in 1835, it was in a small boat (bongo), crossing Cucao lake throughout its length. Nowadays Kayaking has become one of the most pleasant outdoor activities, the main idea of this trip is to reach the mouth of the lake, where Darwin may have performed disembark, and also to experience how the inhabitants of the area used to transport before they had access to roads and bridges. On the way, you will be amazed with the panoramic of the hills, native forest and huge nalcas; this is an adventure you will not forget.

Duration: 2 Hours (+2 from Castro). Difficulty: Low-Medium.

Kayaking Lake Huelde and Cipresal River


The Lake Huelde is 4 km away from Cucao, in the area of Chanquín. Our aim is to navigate across the dark and mysterious waters of the lake. Once we reach the river Cipresal we will enter the wild and beautiful native forest where we will be able to hear birds sing and even come across the Huillín or the Coipo.

Duration: 3 Hours (+2 from Castro). Difficulty: Medium.
